When You Feel Like You’ve Slipped Into Cruise Control

Something has changed… and you can feel it.
You worked for the promotion.
You earned your place.
You proved you could handle more than what was asked of you.
And now… you’re here.
But instead of expansion, it feels like contraction.
The politics.
The unspoken tension.
The constant need to measure your words.
Somewhere along the way, your creativity quietened.
Your fire softened.
And now you find yourself coasting… not because you want to, but because you’re tired.
If this feels familiar, pause here for a moment.
Because this isn’t the end of your energy.
It’s the edge of something new.

It is a new day.
Not in a loud, dramatic way.
But in the quiet, almost imperceptible shift happening within you.
The part of you that feels restless…
That knows there is more…
That hasn’t fully switched off…
That part of you is still alive.
And it matters.
Because what if this isn’t burnout telling you to shrink…
What if it’s growth asking you to expand differently?
You might be telling yourself:
“I’m tired.”
“I’ve done enough.”
“Maybe I should just stay where it’s safe.”
And I understand why that feels true.
But I want to gently offer you something else to consider.
What if your tiredness isn’t a sign that you’ve reached your limit…
But a sign that you’ve outgrown the way you’ve been doing things?
You’ve developed more capacity than your current environment allows you to express.
More insight.
More leadership.
More depth.
And trying to contain it…
will always feel exhausting.
There is more in you.
Not in a pressure-filled way.
Not in a “do more, push harder” way.
But in a grounded, honest way.
You’ve lived.
You’ve learned.
You’ve become someone with something real to offer now.
And that doesn’t get to stay hidden.
Not from the people around you.
And not from yourself.
Here’s where the shift begins.
Not by pushing harder inside the same environment.
But by allowing yourself to be more open… instead of staying in protection.
You were never meant to do this alone.
The next level of your growth won’t come from holding everything together.
It will come from:
Letting the right people in.
Being supported in ways you’re not used to.
Allowing your voice to be heard without filtering it down.
Because the truth is…
You’ve reached the limit of what you can do on your own.
And that’s not failure.
That’s awareness.
Lift your eyes, even just a little.
The people who will support your next season…
May not look like the ones who supported your last.
That’s okay.
You are allowed to evolve.
And so is your environment.
You are not here to coast.
You are here to lead.
To contribute.
To expand beyond the patterns you’ve outgrown.
Even if it feels uncomfortable.
Even if it feels unfamiliar.
Even if you’re tired.
So instead of asking,
“Should I slow down and stay small?”
Maybe the real question is:
“What is ready to come out of me now… that I’ve been holding back?”
You don’t need to force the answer today.
Just don’t rush past the question.
Because something in you is already shifting.
And it’s not asking you to shrink.
It’s asking you to rise…
differently this time.

You’re not losing yourself.
You’re being asked to meet a version of you that needs more, sees more and is ready for something different.
